S. Korea sees over 1,000 COVID cases for first time since January
Daily coronavirus cases in South Korea exceeded 1,000 on Tuesday for the first time since January 3, according to data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA). The country recorded 1,006 infections on Tuesday, with the full tally expected to be higher, according to Yonhap.
86.5% of the reported cases were identified in the wider Seoul area. “Health authorities expressed concerns over the rising ratio of patients in their 20s and 30s as the vaccination program currently gives priority to the elderly population, medical workers and essential workforces,” Yonhap reported.
