Sally likely to make landfall as Category 2 hurricane – NHC
Tropical storm Sally is expected to make landfall in southeastern Louisiana late on Tuesday as a Category 2 hurricane, The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned on Monday.
The cyclone is likely to bring rainfall along the American southern coast with “life-threatening” flash-flood as well as widespread minor to isolated flooding expected on area rivers along and just inland of the Central Gulf Coast.
The NHC did admit it is still too soon to determine where the hurricane’s center will move onshore but that the storm surge and wind hazards will extend “well away” from the center.
