Senate Dems to review suspending gasoline tax
Democratic members of the United States’ upper house are going to review the option of suspending federal gasoline tax for the remainder of 2022, Senator from Arizona Mark Kelly (pictured) stated on Tuesday.
Later, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the final decision on such a move has not been made yet. Meanwhile, Senate Minority Whip John Thune said the Republican Party is unlikely to support that proposal.
The news comes following the report the White House and Democratic members of Congress are discussing the possibility of imposing a federal gasoline tax holiday to respond to the rising prices of that commodity.
