Senate panel plans to call on Zuckerberg, Dorsey to testify
Head of the United States Senate Judiciary subcommittee on privacy and technology Chris Coons stated that it is “very likely” that CEOs of Twitter and Facebook will be invited to testify before the panel. He alluded to last year’s hearings attended by Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg and said that “there’s reason for us to ask them to come before us again.”
“I think we’ll look at the dynamics of social media and I think we’ll look at the intersection between privacy, civil liberties and civil rights in the digital context,” Coons said about the scope of the hearings. However, he added that the plans are not final and did not provide a potential date for the event.
