Senate sets FB, Google, Twitter hearing for Oct 28
United States Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation announced on Friday the hearing of Jack Dorsey, Sundar Pichai, and Mark Zuckerberg, Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of – respectively – Twitter, Alphabet’s Google, and Facebook would take place on October 28.
“The hearing will […] examine legislative proposals to modernize the decades-old law, increase transparency and accountability among big technology companies for their content moderation practices, and explore the impact of large ad-tech platforms on local journalism and consumer privacy,” its statement read.
Earlier this month, the committee announced it would subpoena Dorsey, Pichai, and Zuckerberg regarding the worries on a prized legal immunity covered by internet companies.
