Seoul’s daily COVID cases hit record-high

The number of people who tested positive for COVID-19 during the past day in the South Korean capital of Seoul landed at 2,268, data aggregated by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) showed.

The number marks the city’s highest daily rise in cases since the pandemic started and brings its total to 158,774, with the number of citywide deaths attributed to the virus increasing by 23 to 1,136.
