‘Significant difficulties’ remain in Brexit talks – Irish PM
Ireland’s Prime Minister Michael Martin (pictured) stated on Friday there are still “very significant difficulties” in negotiations on post-Brexit trade relations between the United Kingdom and European Union.
“If we get a substantive future relationship agreement between the UK and the EU that would make life much, much easier for all of us and particularly would give certainty and clarity to businesses and for workers north and south,” Martin said at the North South Ministerial Council meeting.
Earlier today, the prime minister noted he hopes the two sides could reach the agreement over the weekend.
