S&P 200, Nikkei rise after RBA gov’s comments
Equities on the Asian markets traded higher on Wednesday after Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Governor Philip Lowe said that the country’s central bank is committed to doing what’s necessary to achieve its inflation target, a day after the nation decided to hold its rates in February.
The Australian S&P/ASX 200 went up by 1.3% at 5:40 am CET as Japan’s Nikkei 225 added 1.69% or 458 points.
At 5:41 m CET, the dollar went 0.5% up against the yen, going for 114.7430, with markets in South Korea, Hong Kong and in mainland China are closed for a market holiday.
