SpaceX launches X-ray telescope into space for NASA
Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched early on Thursday its Falcon 9 vehicle carrying the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer space telescope (IXPE) into space for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
IXPE, jointly developed by NASA and the Italian Space Agency in around $160 million deal, is expected to help the astronomical community better understand the physics behind and formation of black holes, neutron stars, supernova remnants, magnetars, and pulsars.
