Spahn: Germany to add Austria to COVID high-risk list

German Health Minister Jens Spahn confirmed on Friday that the government will add Austria to the list of countries with a high risk of COVID-19, effectively imposing an obligatory quarantine on unvaccinated travelers.

From November 14, all Austrians entering Germany will have to show proof of vaccination or that they have recovered from COVID-19 or self-isolate for 10 days upon arriving in the country.

The decision comes as both Germany and Austria register record new highs in daily recorded new infections.
