Sports venues in UK won’t be open for fans in Oct – Johnson
Sports events in the United Kingdom will still be held without spectators, despite the news that the clubs might be allowed to open their stadiums for fans in October, the country’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Tuesday.
Calling the sports clubs “the life and soul of … communities,” and noting that he recognizes the implications of the decision, Johnson added that the government is working “urgently” on fashioning measures to support them.
The British head of government previously revealed that new measures to cut the number of daily COVID infections will be adopted come Thursday, but stressed that the country won’t go into full lockdown like it did in March.
