Sputnik V made in line with WHO protocols – Hungarian minister
Hungarian Minister of Human Capacities Miklos Kasler lauded the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V on Monday, claiming that data provided to the Hungarian delegation in Moscow showcased that the vaccine is made “using the latest technology and WHO protocols.”
In a statement released on his official Facebook profile, the minister confirmed that between 3,000 and 5,000 Hungarian citizens will take part in the third stage of the Russian jab’s trial.
Hungary unveiled last month that it plans to test the coronavirus vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, becoming the first member of the European Union to come forward with a similar decision. The move was since criticized by Brussels, through a statement which noted that “potentially unsafe” vaccine could undermine trust in other vaccine candidates.
