Syria’s Assad vaccinated with Sputnik V – report
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad got vaccinated against the coronavirus, Moscow’s Interfax news agency reported on Thursday citing the Syrian ambassador to Russia, and explaining that the president was administered the Russian Sputnik V jab.
According to the report, the inoculation took place as the first shipment of the shot, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, arrived in the country.
Assad and his spouse contracted COVID-19 in March, and have unveiled later that they haven’t suffered any severe symptoms typical for COVID.
