Tajikistan drills are CSTO’s response to Afghan crisis – official
Military drills that the collective forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held in Tajikistan are a response to “a sharp aggravation” of the situation in Afghanistan, Russia’s Central Military District commander Alexander Lapin said to the press on Saturday.
Lapin added that the main goal of the drills was to enhance the members’ ability to protect against “terrorist threats.”
The exercise, dubbed Combat Brotherhood 2021, started on October 18.
