Tencent Q1 revenue at $21 billion, up 25%
Tencent Holdings Ltd. stated on Thursday that its total revenue for the first quarter of the fiscal year stood at $21.2 billion (135 billion yuan), topping market expectations. Compared to last year, the total revenue increased 25.1%.
The Chinese tech company reported a net income of $7.43 billion (47.8 billion yuan) a per annum increase of 65%. Tencent’s online advertising revenue stood at $3.39 billion, slightly above analyst’s projections.
Meanwhile, the number of monthly active users on WeChat increased to 1.24 billion.
