Tesla, Panasonic agree on 3-year battery deal
Tesla Inc. reached an agreement with Japanese electronics company Panasonic on manufacture and supply of lithium-ion battery cells at the Gigafactory in Nevada.
The two companies sealed a three-year pricing deal last week, taking effect on April 1, 2020, according to Tesla’s filing that was released on Tuesday.
Last week, the California-based electric car maker was granted approval in China for its Model 3 with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
