Trump claims US media ‘bought off’ by China
United States President Donald Trump claimed on Thursday that the American media is not criticizing China as much as Russia because they were “bought off ” by Beijing.
Trump called China a “big pot of gold” for the US media and that is why they choose to accuse Russia of meddling in US internal affairs more than China.
The US president insisted China was a bigger problem, but stressed he made it a “much smaller problem” by introducing actions against Beijing, including restricting the business of a number of Chinese companies such as Huawei and TikTok owner ByteDance.
