Trump: Israel, UAE agree on peace deal
United States President Donald Trump unveiled on Thursday that Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed on a “full normalization of relations” following Trump’s phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crowne Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.
“HUGE breakthrough today! Historic Peace Agreement between our two GREAT friends, Israel and the United Arab Emirates!” Trump tweeted.
In a joint statement, Washington, Abu Dhabi and Tel-Aviv hailed the “historic diplomatic breakthrough” that will contribute to peace in the Middle East. Israeli and the UAE delegations are expected to meet in the coming weeks to seal bilateral deals on investment, tourism, security, telecommunications, technology energy and other areas of cooperation.
