Trump reimposes tariffs on Canadian aluminium
United States President Donald Trump confirmed he has signed an order to reimpose tariffs of 10% on the aluminum imported from Canada.
“Canada was taking advantage of us, as usual, and I signed it, and it imposes because the aluminum business was being decimated by Canada. Very unfair,” he stated, adding such a move was necessary to protect the American aluminum industry.
Trump previously said his administration has been working on “reasserting American economic independence” and that it will continue to do so “in the next four years.”
