Trump wishes Johnson ‘speedy recovery’
United States President Donald Trump and United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson held a conversation on Friday after the latter tested positive for the novel coronavirus earlier in the day, White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere revealed.
Trump “thanked the Prime Minister for his close friendship and wished him a speedy recovery,” Deere wrote on Twitter. He added that both heads of state noted that their mutual cooperation and partnership with other leading global powers is crucial to winning the fight against the pandemic and improving the world economy.
“The two leaders also expressed optimism that the United States and the United Kingdom would emerge stronger than ever,” Deere concluded.
