Trump’s admin to block virus tracing, testing funds – report
United States President Donald Trump’s administration is planning to block funding for testing, contact tracing, and other efforts against the spread of coronavirus that Congress might propose next week, The Washington Post reported.
According to the newspaper’s sources, the administration will seek to bar billions of dollars allocated to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Pentagon, and State Department in their combat against the COVID-19 pandemic domestically and internationally.
Earlier this week, House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she expected the Democrats and the Republicans to agree on the $1.3 billion coronavirus relief bill, which Trump reportedly insists he will not sign the next stimulus bill unless it includes a payroll tax cut.
