UK adds 7,393 COVID cases, most since February
The number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus in the United Kingdom increased by 7,393 over the past 24 hours, marking the sharpest rise in new infections since February 27, the country’s health authorities unveiled on Thursday.
During the same time, the deaths attributed to the virus remained in the single-digit territory, with 7 fatalities reported within the past day. Since the pandemic started, the UK registered 4,542,986 coronavirus cases, while its virus death toll reached 127,867.
More than 77% of the UK’s population received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while almost 55% of Britons have been fully vaccination, according to the government’s data.
