UK cancels Brexit talks in London set for next week – report
United Kingdom chief negotiator David Frost told on Friday his counterpart from the European Union, Michel Barnier, that “there was no basis” for the Brexit talks to continue next week in London as previously agreed.
However, Sky News reported that the two officials would still make a phone call early next week to exchange their views on the matter.
A post-Brexit trade agreement between the UK and the EU was supposed to be reached by October 15. After multiple rounds of negotiations over the year, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced earlier today that London is preparing for an Australia-style deal with Brussels.
