UK COVID restrictions likely to stay for 6 months – Johnson
United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Tuesday that new restrictions will be implemented in England from Thursday to curb the spread of the coronavirus amid a spike in cases, but insisted there will be no return to the full lockdown seen in March.
Johnson confirmed pubs and restaurants will be restricted to table service and have to close at 10 pm. He also noted that all people who are able to, should work from home.
The prime minister warned the measures could stay in place for the next six months unless a vaccine is found earlier and threatened to toughen them if they are not respected or don’t produce desired results, namely return the virus reproduction rate to or below 1.
