UK GDP rises by 1.1% MoM in September
The United Kingdom’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 1.1% in September in comparison to the previous month, which marks the fifth consecutive monthly increase, but performing below expectations, the country’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed in its report released on Thursday.
The figure for the three months leading to September, the figure grew by 15.5%. However, it remained 8.2% lower when compared to February 2020, before the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The report noted the estimates for September showed “more uncertainty than usual as a result of the challenges we faced estimating GDP in the current conditions.”
