UK producer prices up by 9.9% in January
The headline rate of output inflation for goods leaving the factory gate in the United Kingdom increased by 9.9% in the 12 months to January 2021, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in its report issued on Wednesday.
On a monthly scale, the rate of output inflation was 1.2% in January, up from 0.3% seen the month before. The headline rate of input prices gained 13.6% year-on-year, down from December’s 13.8%.
Other manufactured products and metals, and non-metallic minerals contributed the most to the upward trend in the annual rates of output inflation and input inflation during January.
