UK to halt daily COVID-19 death toll updates
The United Kingdom will stop issuing daily updates on the COVID-19 death toll on Saturday, after the UK Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock (pictured) called for an “urgent review” into the data accuracy the day before.
Hancock announced the reassessment of data, stating there is a chance that the number of deaths attributed to coronavirus in the country may be exaggerated due to “statistical anomaly” in Public Health England’s (PHE) reports.
Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson stressed the need for increased testing in the country the day before and suggested that “some sort of normality” will be felt in the UK around November.
