UK to quarantine arrivals from Spain
The Scottish government announced on Saturday that starting tomorrow travelers coming from Spain into the United Kingdom will need to be quarantined for two weeks upon arrival.
“Spain will be removed from the list of countries exempt from quarantine requirements due to an increased number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last few days. The decision, also made by the devolved administrations in Northern Ireland and Wales as well as the UK Government, has been made to reduce the risk of the transmission of the virus by those traveling from Spain,” the government said in the statement.
Spain has recently experienced a new spike in coronavirus cases, prompting Norway to place arrivals from the Mediterranean country into quarantine. Meanwhile, France issued a travel warning for the same reasons.
