UK trade deficit up to £9.3 billion in 3 months to November
United Kingdom’s trade deficit in goods and services, excluding precious metals, rose by £2.8 billion to £9.3 billion in the three months to November, according to a report by the Office of National Statistics released on Friday.
Total imports rose 4.9% in November on a monthly basis, with the gap between EU and non-EU imports at its widest point of the year in favor of non-EU countries. Exports were down by 1%, with a fall in exports to non-EU countries while exports to EU countries remained flat. The trade in services extended its surplus by £2.1 billion to £35.9 billion in the three months to November.
