UN alarmed by events on Korean peninsula
The spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric stated on Wednesday that the organization is concerned by the missile strikes on the Korean Peninsula and urges for a diplomatic solution.
Dujarric noted that the UN strongly believes that diplomatic cooperation remains the only way to achieve peace, as well as a full and transparent denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Earlier, North Korea reportedly fired two ballistic missiles into the East Sea, shortly after which the South Korean presidency announced its successful underwater testing of a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
