US airstrike killed al-Qaeda commander – reports

A United States airstrike in Yemen killed al-Qaeda military commander and former Osama Bin Laden associate Salih bin Salim bin Ubayd ‘Abolan, known as ‘Umayr al-Hadhrami, the group announced according to several reports.

The strike was conducted between the nation’s southern provinces of al-Bayda and Shabwa, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The last reported US airstrike in Yemen killed three militants on November 14 last year.
