US business inventories decline 0.4% in February
Inventories in the manufacturing and trade sectors in the United States fell 0.4% in February compared to the previous month’s revised figure to reach $1,012.7 billion, according to the report by the US Census Bureau released on Wednesday. Year-on-year, inventories were down 0.1%
The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for February, adjusted for seasonal and trading-day differences was estimated at $1.464.2 billion, declining 0.5% from January and was also down 0.1% on an annual basis.
Seasonally adjusted business to sales ratio stood at 1.37 in February, slightly down from 1.39 recorded in the same month a year ago.
