US infrastructure ‘way behind’ rest of world – Biden
United States President Joe Biden stated on Friday that the infrastructure in the United States’ infrastructure is “way behind” when compared to the rest of the world.
Speaking at Amtrak’s 50th-anniversary event, Biden stated that the US is in “competition” with the rest of the world and that they are currently “behind the curve” when it comes to infrastructure, asserting that China is currently “winning” with its investments in infrastructure and 23,000 miles of high-speed rails. He also touted his American Jobs Plan as a way to “win the 21st century,” as the bill intends to invest ten billion dollars per year on the rail, with the aim of creating union jobs and “modernizing stations and expanding rail services.”
During his joint address to Congress earlier this week, Biden stated that America was “on the move again,” something he repeated during today’s remarks, as he tries to navigate a bipartisan way to get his infrastructure bill passed through the House and the Senate.
