US lower premarket amid infrastructure uncertainty
Equities on Wall Street traded lower in the premarket session on Monday, as President Joe Biden continued to advocate for the bipartisan infrastructure legislation and the social spending package throughout the weekend.
The Evergrande crisis continued as Hong Kong suspended the trading of all company’s shares and assets, while the Hong Kong real estate developer Hopson Development Holdings was announced to be buying 51% of the struggling real-estate group’s management unit. Notably, the UK supply crisis was reported to be nearing an end, as the country faced potential welfare cuts.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.50% at 4:34 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.69% at the same time. The S&P 500 traded 0.56% lower a minute later. The euro gained 0.14% against the dollar to trade for 1.16096 at 4:35 am ET.
