US oil rig count drops by 2 to 443 – Baker Hughes
Baker Hughes weekly rig count data revealed on Friday that the number of oil rigs in the United States in the week ending October 22 came in at 443, two lower than the week before. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs increased by 232.
The number of US gas rigs grew by one to 99 during the same week to bring the overall number of rigs operating in the country to 542.
In Canada, the rig count was down by four to 164. The number of oil rigs decreased by five compared to the previous week, with the tally now standing at 93. The total amount of Canadian rigs grew by 81 over the year.
