US oil rig count up by 1 to 683 – Baker Hughes
The number of oil rigs in the United States increased by 1 to 683 in the week ending March 13 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
Meanwhile, the number of US gas rigs was fell by 2 to 107 during the same week to bring the total number of rigs in the country to 792. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs decreased by 150.
In Canada, the number of oil rigs dropped by 19 to 115 and the number of gas rigs declined by 9 to 60, bringing the total rig count to 175. Year-on-year, the number of oil rigs in Canada rose by 17.
