US oil rig count up by 12 to 205 – Baker Hughes
The number of oil rigs in the United States increased by 12 to 205 in the week ending October 16 compared to the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes weekly rig count released on Friday.
Meanwhile, the number of US gas rigs rose by 1 to 74 during the same week to bring the total number of rigs in the country to 282 with 3 miscellaneous rigs. Compared to the same period a year earlier, the number of oil rigs is down by 508.
In Canada, the number of rigs was unchanged at 80 as one oil rig was added, but gas rigs declined by 1. The number of oil rigs in Canada declined by 58 compared to the same time a year ago.
