US ready to lift many sanctions, but not enough for Iran
Iranian envoy to the Vienna nuclear talks Abbas Araqchi stated on Friday that the United States is open to eliminate many of its sanctions on Iran, but despite that, Tehran is demanding more, and therefore the discussions will continue until all conditions are met.
“The information transferred to us from the U.S. side is that they are also serious on returning to the nuclear deal and they have so far declared their readiness to lift a great part of their sanctions,” Araqchi told state reporters.
Another round of talks that initially began on April 6 ended in Vienna on Friday without any particular breakthrough but on an optimistic note of potentially reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The delegates also agreed to speed up the diplomatic process.
