US: Risk to financial stability remains medium
The United States Office of Financial Research (OFR) reported on Wednesday that the overall risk to the country’s financial stability remains medium.
In its annual report to Congress, the OFR noted that the US economy rebounded, as the effects of the pandemic began to subside. However, rising inflation and monetary policies could heighten the systemic risk to the financial situation in the country.
OFR Director Dino Falaschetti commented on the report: “Macroeconomic uncertainty will test the staying power of the economic rebound, and risks that have not traditionally been examined in terms of threats to financial stability are beginning to take shape.”
