US sees 79,075 COVID cases, 607 deaths
The United States registered 79,075 new COVID-19 cases and 607 coronavirus-related deaths over the past day, the Johns Hopkins data showed on Tuesday.
The health situation remains mostly stable looking at the data, as the country continues the mass vaccination campaign which started at the end of last year. The US confirmed nearly 30.79 million positive cases and more than 555,600 fatalities to date, with nearly 400 million performed COVID-19 tests.
Meanwhile, the US administered over 167 million COVID-19 vaccines, the most across the world. However, it stands behind Israel, the United Kingdom and Chile when it comes to the share of the total population that received at least one vaccine dose.
