US shares turn to losses in year’s last session
Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States slid below the flatline after having started the year’s final trading session flat on Thursday.
The country’s leading epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, described the pace at which the vaccination against COVID-19 is occurring as “disappointing,” adding that less than one-fourth of the vaccines distributed across the country have so far been administered.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 0.13% at 12:07 pm ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.21% at the same time. The S&P 500 concurrently went down by 0.08%. The euro dived 0.55% compared to the dollar, selling for 1.22244 at 12:10 am ET.
