US to start enforcing COVID vaccine mandate from Jan 10
The United States Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) stated tha it plans on enforcing US President Joe Biden’s coronavirus vaccine mandate for companies from January 10.
The agency also noted that when it comes to enforcing the testng requirements, it won’t start penalizing companies that don’t follow them until February 8 as long as the company is “exercising reasonable, good faith efforts to come into compliance with the standard.”
Biden’s vaccine mandate has been a controversial issue for the US, with the final decision now being decided in the courts. OSHA’s announcement comes a day after an appeal’s court judge reinstated the mandate for companies with over 100 employees, following an earlier stop of the mandate by a different circuit court federal judge.
