US wholesale inventories rise by 1.3% in March
Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 1.3% in March compared to the previous month’s revised figure to $693.6 billion, the US Census Bureau said on Friday. Compared to March 2020, total inventories of merchant wholesalers were up 4.5%.
Sales of merchant wholesalers adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes amounted to $567.9 billion, marking a 4.6% jump from the revised February level and a 19% soar compared to the third month of 2020.
The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers stood at 1.22, down from the same month a year ago when it came in at 1.39.
