Vestager denies putting obstacles to Lufthansa aid
The European Commission’s Vice President Margrethe Vestager (pictured) denied on Friday that she is putting “additional obstacles” in the way of Lufthansa’s $10 billion aid package.
She added that all companies in the country that had been impacted by a coronavirus and therefore are receiving state recapitalization support need to do more to balance the position they gain over rivals that only receive government loans.
The company refused to approve the bailout package due to the EU Commission’s request for giving up the airport slots.
