Wall Street falls premarket amid COVID fears
Stocks in the United States fell in premarket on Friday as concerns over rising COVID-19 cases affected sentiment. Despite 51% of the population being vaccinated, the US continued to report over 150,000 new coronavirus cases per day. Investors also remained concerned about the situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban took control of the country following NATO troops’ withdrawal.
The Dow Jones slid 0.52% at 4:02 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.35% and the S&P 500 declined 0.48% at the same time.
The euro added 0.04% against the dollar to sell for 1.16804 at 4:02 am ET.
