Wall Street opens flat to lower after jobs data disappoints
Stocks on Wall Street opened flat to lower on Friday as investors digested a worse-than-expected jobs report. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said that the US added 199,000 nonfarm payrolls in December, more than double less than analysts had expected.
The Dow Jones lost 0.18% at 9:30 am ET. The worst performer was Visa whose shares slid 1.02%.
The Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 started the session flat.
The euro gained 0.33% against the dollar to sell for 1.13280 at 9:31 am ET.
