WH doesn’t expect disruptions due to vaccine mandates
The White House does not expect disruptions to the United States economy ahead of the holiday season as a consequence of coronavirus vaccine mandates, Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday.
On the other hand, COVID-19 itself is an “enormous labor disruptor,” she told reporters at the White House, adding that several airlines that imposed vaccine mandates “have made clear” that there won’t be a labor shortage in their sector.
“The first step” in enforcing mandates is “not firings” of workers who are vaccine-hesitant, but “education and counseling,” according to Psaki.
