WH doesn’t want Iranian proxies threatening US – Psaki
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters during a press conference on Monday that the United States government is looking for de-escalation in the region of Iraq, following US airstrikes on alleged Irani-backed facilities.
“We don’t want to see Iranian proxies threatening our interests in the region, certainly we would prefer that not be the case,” Psaki said, adding that the US reserves the right to respond to attacks in order to protect American troops.
Psaki also pointed out that President Joe Biden is confident in the legal justification of the recent bombings in Iraq and thought it was an appropriate course of action.
