WH flag at half-mast to commemorate Rep. Lewis’ death
White House lowered its flag to half-staff on Saturday, commemorating the passing of Representative John Lewis.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany took to Twitter and wrote: “Rep. John Lewis was an icon of the civil rights movement, and he leaves an enduring legacy that will never be forgotten. We hold his family in our prayers, as we remember Rep. John Lewis’ incredible contributions to our country.”
The late congressman, who has been serving in the House since 1987, passed away after being diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer last year.
