Wirecard drops 26%, ex-COO reportedly on the run
Wirecard shares plunged over 25% on Wednesday as Munich prosecutors raided its offices and widened the probe into the company’s executives over the recent accounting scandal. Meanwhile, media reported that former COO Jan Marsalek, who is under investigation, is on the run.
According to the reports, German prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for Marsalek but he traveled to the Philippines last week and is believed to have left the country for China in the meantime.
Wirecard plummeted 26.65% to €4.203 at 12:52 pm CET.
